Kayla Smalls
Kayla graduated with a master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the CUNY School of Professional Studies in 2024 and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CUNY Lehman College in 2022. While pursuing her education and gaining experience in human resources, she discovered a passion for supporting employees, improving workplace processes, and helping the youth build confidence as they begin their professional journeys. Prior to joining Futures and Options, Kayla supported HR teams in employee onboarding, benefits administration, and HR operations through roles at Madison Square Garden and the United States Court of Appeals.
Today, Kayla works as a Temporary HR Assistant, where she supports the onboarding of Futures & Options high school interns participating in the Summer Internship Program. She enjoys helping create a welcoming experience for interns while supporting the day-to-day HR operations that keep the program running smoothly.
Outside of work, Kayla loves traveling, attending concerts, and exploring New York City’s cafés in search of her next favorite spot.
